Anglicanism

This Church History course is taught by The Rt. Rev. Ray S. Sutton (Ph.D. Oxford). Beginning with the definition of Anglicanism as "Reformed Catholicism," Bishop Sutton presents a brief history of Anglicanism and then discusses several aspects of Anglicanism, including the authority of Holy Scripture, Faith and Salvation, Worship and Liturgy, Spirituality, Church Polity, and the Sacraments.

Apologetics

The Very Rev Frank Levi has studied movements, philosophies, and world religions most of his life, having taught such on secular college campuses for many years. You will not only learn how to defend the Christian faith from secular, hostile attacks (and how to counter them), but also how to approach those of other world religions, such as Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism.

Doctrine of the Church and Eschatology

Part One, taught by The Rt. Rev. Royal U. Grote, is an examination of the biblical language, imagery, and theology of the Church (i.e, Ecclesiology) laying the foundation for a consideration what has been described as the great “notes” or marks of the Church: One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic. Part Two, taught by The Rt. Rev Daniel R. Morse, presents the concerns of General Eschatology, specifically the victory of Christ.  The final 2-1/2 hours, taught by The Very Rev. Curtis I. Crenshaw, focus on the four competing views of dispensationalism.

The Four Gospels

Why four Gospels? Why did God not just give us the life of Christ through the work of one author? He divinely appointed four to tell the story of the Incarnation. The differences among the accounts are not contradictions but complementary pictures of Jesus. Each Gospel provides a piece of the overall portrait. Taught by The Rt. Rev. Ray R. Liturgics

The Rt. Rev. Ray R. Sutton (Ph.D. Oxford) teaches -this in-depth look at the grammar, syntax, dialect, and accent of the liturgy. Beginning with the premise that in worship God meets with His people and his glory comes to wherever they are, Bishop Sutton shows how the Church in its theology and symbolism reminds the people of God of the glory into which they have entered in the Divine Liturgy. As a result, liturgical worship is the greatest privilege that a human being can have.

Introduction to Moral Theology

Introduction to the Biblical, philosophical and historical approaches to ethics and morality in the Church. Special consideration will be given to an examination of the Ten Commandments. Taught by the Very Rev Frank Levi.

Old Testament Poetical Books

These include Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and the Song of Solomon. Taught by The Rt. Rev. Daniel R. Morse, who studied Hebrew in Israel, these books will open up for you. Bishop Morse has the unique gift of making things clear and simple. You will see the worship of the Church in the Psalms and the practical wisdom in Proverbs, and much more.

Patristics

Taught by The Rt. Rev. Dr. John Fenwick from England, Ph.D., Dr. Fenwick has traveled widely, was in the office of the Archbishop of Canterbury at one time, and did his Ph.D. in liturgy in the early fathers. His accent is a delight to hear, but his unfolding of the early fathers is even better. It is very encouraging to know that what we believe is what the early fathers taught. The Church has not changed the essence of its belief in 2,000 years, for God's truth of the Gospel is unchanging!

Spirituality
